According to the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy, inflation for January-August 2018 was 2.9%. Last year, during the same period, inflation was 3.9%, reports the chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Daniyar Akishev.
"The annual inflation from August 2017 to August this year, was 6% and is in the middle of the corridor set for 2018 - that is, 5-7%. We expect inflation to remain in the target corridor in 2018," said D. Akishev at a press conference in Almaty.
He stressed that previously identified risks of rising inflation and possible exit beyond the corridor related to 2019, which was determined by a lower inflation corridor - 4-6%.
