TV channels have been banned from mentioning the name of former President Islam Karimov in Uzbekistan, reports ca-news.org.

"Earlier this week, editors of all TV channels within the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan were warned that the name of the first President I. Karimov was not mentioned at all on the air," the message said.

As the Centralasian.org reports, the leader, who was working on the air on one of the TV channels as part of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan (NTRC), told about it. "He says that the order not to mention the name of I.Karimov in all programs included in the broadcasting grid came from the state adviser of President Hayridin Sultanov," the message says.
