Kyrgyzstan reduces import duties on cars

The rates of customs duties on cars imported by individuals have been reduced in Kyrgyzstan.

The decree was signed by the Prime Minister Muhammadkaliy Abylgaziev.

The government thus intends to reduce the number of old cars and update the fleet of the country. So, by the resolution of the government, the rates of a single rate of customs duties and taxes on motor vehicles with petrol and diesel engines are reduced to the level of rates in force in 2014.

The solution is also aimed at stimulating the import of cars with electric and hybrid engines. Electric cars introduced a zero rate of customs duties and taxes, on cars with hybrid engines - up to 0,5-0,6 dollars per cubic centimeter.

The new rates to come into force after 14 days and will be valid until December 31, 2019.
