Tashkent is recognized as the cheapest city in the world for expats (foreign workers), reports the study of the international consulting company Mercer.
The study considers more than 200 indicators, including the cost of renting cost, transportation costs, clothing, food, rest and many others.
The other day the company estimated the cost of living for foreign workers in 209 cities around the world.
Hong Kong, ranked 1st in the ranking, has become the most expensive expatriate city in Asia and around the world, followed by Tokyo - 2, Zurich - 3, Singapore - 4, Seoul - 5, Luanda - 6, Shanghai - 7 , N'Djamena - 8, Beijing - 9 and Bern - 10.
Tashkent is located on the last 209th place. Above it are Tunisia, Bishkek, Banjul, Karachi, Blantyre, Tbilisi and Minsk. Bishkek (207) and Tashkent (209) remain the least expensive cities in Central Asia for expatriates.
