At the end of 2017, more than 35,000 patients with malignant neoplasms were identified in Kazakhstan, the total number of oncological Kazakhstanis is 171,000, Minister of Health Elzhan Birtanov said during a government meeting.
In the dynamics over the past 10 years, the tendency of the incidence rate of malignant neoplasms has increased by 9.5% in Kazakhstan and the mortality rate has decreased by 28.5%.
"Breast cancer, 13.8%, lung cancer - 11.8%, gastric cancer - 8.6% occupy the main share in the morbidity structure, while 70% of patients with oncological diseases are people of working age.
