The first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan to build in Navoi region, head of the Russian State Corporation Rosatom Alexey Likhachev said in Tashkent.

The choice of a place for the construction of a new facility became known following the results of the negotiations between representatives of Rosatom and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

"Today the President and the Prime Minister called us the place in Navoi region. Only these days we leave and start gathering information. We agreed on the approaches to the project organization. In short, this is not an IPC contract, where there is a clear role for the customer and the contractor. And this is the approach when we build together when we build ourselves as ourselves," Likhachev said in an interview with journalists after meeting Mirziyoyev.
