Defense Ministers of Kazakhstan and Iran met in Moscow. Within the framework of the VII Moscow Conference on International Security organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Russian, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan met with representatives of the Defense Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran and discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation.
As stated by the official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Moscow conference focused on topical issues in the fight against terrorism, security in Europe and the Middle East, and issues related to the security of Asia and the Pacific and Central Asia.
According to Iran's IRNA news agency, the heads and officials of the Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan and Iran talked about the role of historical, religious and cultural relations in the security issue of the two countries. "Kazakhstan has played a crucial role in maintaining stability and security of the region, in particular, in the Astana negotiations about Syria, as well as in the nuclear issue", - noted the Iranian Defense Minister.
