Turkmenistan will reduce the number of civil servants. This was reported by the edition Azatlyk of Turkmenistan.
According to the Central Asian News Service, the education and culture employees were writing a joint letter to the Azatlyk editorial staff in Turkmenistan. In this letter they informed that the number of education and culture workers are going to be reduced in libraries, museums and cultural centers in Ashhabad.
The Azatlyk editorial staff can not yet prove the truth of the information in the letter. However, the letter states that more than a thousand budget workers will be cut down, including hundreds of secondary school teachers.
Last autumn, the authorities issued a special order to cut down the number of retired employees in the field of medicine, education and culture.
In addition, last November, the staffs in the water industry and oil industry were reduced. That time, local observers connected it with the crisis in the country.
