At the headquarters of the United Nations was the ceremony of signing the treaty on the renunciation of nuclear weapons of Kazakhstan. The agreement was signed by Permanent representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the United Nations Kairat Omarov. This was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
As stated by the agency, Kazakhstan has been actively involved in development and adoption of the treaty text, which became the first legal instrument in the history of nuclear disarmament.
"The basic provisions of the document is in line with Kazakhstan's principled commitment to becoming a leading state in the field of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation" - said in the statement.
In General, Kazakhstan now calls world powers to build a nuclear-free world. However, in the recent time, conflicts around the world have intensified, and the threat of nuclear war has increased. Last year North Korea achieved significant results in the development of nuclear programs. Moreover, US President Tramp ordered the entire nuclear arsenal to be upgraded.
