In 2017, 3350 people moved from the south to the north in Kazakhstan, but this tendency of immigrants is increased threefold in 2018.
'In 2018, 9,000 people will move from the southern region of Kazakhstan to the north', said Nurzhan Altayev, Kazakhstan’s vice-minister of labour and social protection of the people.
"Unfortunately, young people move from the northern regions either big cities, to the capital, or abroad. In view of the fact that demography in the northern regions is not positive, there is a shortage in the workforce, and in the southern regions, the situation is reversed, in which funds are laid, so that these young people could go to the northern regions and get a job there", he said.
The Vice Minister specified that the resettlement comes from the South Kazakhstan region, Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda and Mangystau regions to the East Kazakhstan region, the North Kazakhstan region, Pavlodar and Kostanay regions.
