The pension assets of the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (ENPF), managed by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, amounted to 7,774.82 billion tenge, which is 1094.68 billion tenge, or 16.4% more than at the beginning of 2017, with reference to the ENPF.
The size of the net investment income for 2017 was 550.6 billion tenge. The yield of pension assets of the ENPF, distributed to the accounts of depositors (beneficiaries) for the past year, was 7.92%, with an inflation rate of 7.1% per annum. To date, the main share in the portfolio - 46.14% - is ‘government securities of the Republic of Kazakhstan’, the current value of which for December 2017 increased by 167.14 billion and amounted to 3587.63 billion tenge.
On the second place in terms of the volume of pension assets invested are ‘Bonds of second-tier banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan’, whose share in the portfolio is 16.03%. The current value of these bonds amounted to 1246.49 billion tenge. On the third place in terms of volume - financial instruments ‘State securities of foreign countries’. Their value amounted to 948.84 billion tenge, and the share in the portfolio - 12.2%. These and other financial instruments purchased from the ENPF pension assets are denominated in tenge (72.28%), in US dollars (27.14%) and in Russian rubles (0.47%).
