Kazakhstan began to apply a unified tariff when transporting goods by rail from Kyrgyzstan to other countries of the EAEC.
Per the Commission, this decision made based on the results of the dialogue between the two countries and the Eurasian Economic Commission. The Commission also notes that earlier, ‘despite the requirements of the EAEC rights, the transportation of goods by rail between member states and specific regions of Kyrgyzstan through the territory of Kazakhstan was carried out at higher rates of the transit tariff.
‘The application of the unified tariff to reduce the transport and logistics costs in the implementation of mutual trade between the member states of the Union’, said Karine Minasyan, a member of the Minister on domestic markets, information and communication technologies of the EEC.
In November, the EAEC court adopted an advisory opinion, per the unified tariff, should be applied in the implementation of transportations following the EAEC Agreement.
