Foreign Minister Beibut Atamkulov had a working meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions of the CIS member states and Georgia, accredited in Kazakhstan, reports the press service of MFA.

The meeting was attended by Ambassadors from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.

The Minister noted that the development of comprehensive relations with these states is among the main priorities of Kazakhstan's foreign policy. It was stressed that the established level of trust and constructive engagement helps to open new horizons of cooperation, providing a solid basis for the progressive development in the future.

“We need to make maximum use of the geographical proximity of our countries and the transport and logistics capabilities of the region to expand the trade and economic cooperation, as well as joint cooperation in the production of necessary goods and supply of agricultural products,” the Foreign Minister said.

In their remarks, the Ambassadors stressed the creative role of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in establishing truly friendly relations between the states, which is facilitated by both the historically established traditions of good-neighborliness and sincere dialogue between the leaders of the countries.

The participants expressed the need to maintain the dynamics of joint work in order to further strengthen political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The participants also summed up the results of last year's activities, outlined plans for the near future with an emphasis on strengthening foreign economic and investment ties, and identified priorities for deepening multilateral cooperation.

From regional and integration perspective, Foreign Minister Atamkulov positively characterized the strengthening and intensification of interstate relations in Central Asia, and noted the important role of integration structures such as the CIS, EAEU and CSTO.
