The Minister of Foreign Affairs Beibut Atamkulov met with the Managing Director of ExxonMobil, Dinesh Sivasambu, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, reports the press service of the MFA.
“Kazakhstan is maintaining the continuity of the political and economic course, which is an important signal for the business community. We highly appreciate the commitment of ExxonMobil to the spirit of partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as its contribution to the development of the economy of Kazakhstan," the Foreign Minister said.
The ExxonMobil representative shared short-term plans and expressed gratitude for the support provided to investors by the government of Kazakhstan. “As an investor, we are interested in continuing cooperation with Kazakhstan," Mr. Sivasambu noted.
During the meeting, the sides discussed relevant issues and promising areas of cooperation, including the use of the company's reinvestment for the development of processing sectors and industrialization.
The Foreign Minister encouraged ExxonMobil to consider the possibility of reinvesting their funds in new economic projects in various fields, as well as to invite new companies, supplying various American products, to enter Kazakhstan. The sides agreed to continue the dialogue in this area.
It was noted that ExxonMobil was also interested in further investment in production in the country, as well as in social programs, particularly in healthcare and education in the regions where the company operates, and in Kazakhstan as a whole.
In addition, Dinesh Sivasambu confirmed the participation of ExxonMobil management at the upcoming 32nd meeting of the Foreign Investors Council.
