More than 12 thousand people released from prison in Kazakhstan in 2018, reports the press service of the Committee of the Penitentiary System of Kazakhstan.

A number of laws have been adopted in recent years, the criminal justice system has been activated. The goal is to let the convicts early release.

"In 12 months, about 12,000 people released in 2018. Over two thousand sentences have expired. The rest was prematurely released, transferred to a simplified punishment or other aspects", - says at the committee.

In addition, the relevant work is being carried out with a special contingent, and sentenced to imprisonment and probation service for the social rehabilitation of complex strategic planning for 2017-2019.
