Kazakhstan has banned the import of 141 tons of Russian wheat, reports the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic . They tried to ship the products to the territory of Kazakhstan without a mandatory phytosanitary certificate, the department said.
In addition, from 10 to 12 October, Kazakhstani plant quarantine inspectors stopped illegal import into the country of 20 tons of grapes and two tons of apples from Kyrgyzstan, as well as 2,5 tons of persimmon from Uzbekistan. Fruits from Kyrgyzstan did not have the necessary documents, and inspectors found a quarantine object in the cargo of persimmon — the Comstock worm (Pseudococcus comstocki, Kuwana). Administrators were drawn up against violators. Goods returned to the territory of exporting countries.
In recent months, Kazakhstan and Russia regularly exchange mutual claims regarding the quality of imported products and compliance with the rules for their transportation. Rosselkhoznadzor specialists unwrapped vegetables and fruits from Kazakhstan, as well as local sausages and milk at the border. Kazakhstan, in turn, restricted the import of poultry meat and eggs from several Russian regions. In late September, the parties even threatened to impose mutual restrictions on the supply of products. After the regular attacks of the Rosselkhoznadzor, the Kazakhstani side began to regularly prevent agricultural products from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from entering its territory, explaining this with stricter controls.
