Tajik President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Tashkent on an official visit, reports the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

"Tajik President Emomali Rahmon arrived in Tashkent to pay a state visit. At Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev greeted the high guest," the message reads.

The sides to discuss issues of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, transport and communication spheres, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and inter-regional cooperation between the two countries, as well as exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

As a result of the talks, it is planned to sign a number of documents that raise the bar of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to a new level.
