Former Interior Minister of Uzbekistan Adham Ahmedboyev was arrested in Tashkent. This was reported by the Central Asian News Service.

As stated by the local media representatives, Adham Ahmedboyev was arrested on January 26 in Tashkent during a special operation was held by the soldiers of the Presidential Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the office of prosecutor. The 52-year-old ex-minister was detained a month after President Shavkat Mirziyoyev accused him of treason.

Recall, a month ago, on December 22, Shavkat Mirziyoyev strongly condemned former minister Adham Ahmedboyev in his address to both houses of parliament. There he told: "Do you know where the former Minister of the Interior now? My conscience could not agree that despite being minister of Uzbekistan, he betrayed by joining to one group. I took out two generals' pagons”.
