This was reported at the meeting of the presidents of Tajikistan and Belarus, Emomali Rahmon and Alexander Lukashenko, on June 28 in Minsk, BelTA reports.
Relations of Belarus and Tajikistan are reaching the level of strategic partnership. The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, announced this today at a meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon in an expanded format.
Lukashenko noted that during negotiations with the Tajik leader in a narrow composition, the parties were convinced of the similarity of approaches to assessing the regional and global situation. He stated that Minsk and Dushanbe traditionally support each other at international sites, and expressed confidence that this will continue.
“At the end of the negotiations, we will have to sign a landmark document - the Treaty on Strategic Partnership. It is a natural result of building friendly, truly constructive relations. Its implementation will give momentum to further work in all directions,” stressed Alexander Lukashenko.
The leader of Belarus also stressed that Belarus is set to work systematically and for a long time with Tajikistan in the economic sphere.
Recall, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon is in Minsk on an official visit.
