The sanction in the form of detention for Jomart Yertaev was extended for another two months, reports Zakon.kz.

According to the press service of the Almaty City Court, the specialized inter-district investigative court of Almaty extended the detention of Jomart Yertaev up to five months, that is, until August 15.

Ex-banker Jomart Yertaev was delivered to Almaty in mid-March 2019. The measure of restraint in the form of detention is calculated from March 15, 2019. Earlier, in 2018, the court of Medeu ordered the arrest of Yertaev in absentia.

In the spring of last year, the media reported on the detention in the center of Moscow of the former adviser to the Chairman of the Board of JSC Bank RBK Jomart Yertaev. A few days later he was placed under house arrest. In early January 2019, it became known that Jomart Yertaev was taken into custody in Moscow. On November 14, 2018, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Kazakhstan issued a new resolution on the qualification of the suspect’s actions under Part 3 of Art. 28, paragraph 2 of Part 4 of Art. 189 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan he is accused in absentia of embezzling about $ 80 million received as a loan from Bank RBK JSC.
