Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov will take part in the Forum “Clean Water for the Regions” in Bishkek, reports the President’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The President of the EBRD Suma Chakrabarti, heads of ministries and departments, local authorities, directors of municipal water enterprises, representatives of the donor community are invited to the forum. Forum participants will discuss strategies and concrete steps to improve the water supply, sanitation and irrigation sector throughout the country.

During the Forum, two agreements will be signed between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the EBRD on the improvement of water supply systems - the Agreement on the rehabilitation of water supply systems in local authorities Myrza-Ake, Kurshab and Don-Bulak and the Agreement on improving the water supply system in Jalal-Abad.

The total investment of two projects is more than 15 million euros. The event was organized by the EBRD and the State Agency for Architecture, Construction and Housing and Communal Services under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
