On May 15, the upcoming meeting was discussed by the presidents of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan by telephone, the UzTAG reports.

"The heads of state wholeheartedly congratulated each other on the coming of the holy month of Ramadan and exchanged the best wishes," the presidential press service said.

The presidents noted the consistent strengthening of friendship and strategic partnership, the development of mutually beneficial trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

“The importance of comprehensive preparation for the first meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council was particularly emphasized. A schedule of upcoming summits was considered,” follows from the report.

During the conversation, the heads of state wished the people of Uzbekistan and Turkey well-being, peace and further prosperity.
