The First Forum of Rectors of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation “The Development of Science and Education - Investing in the Future” will take place in Bishkek, reports the press service of the Ministry of Education.
The event will be held as part of the state visit to Kyrgyzstan by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The purpose of the Forum is to expand bilateral Kyrgyz-Russian scientific and educational cooperation.
The forum will be attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Kotyukov, the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Olga Vasilyeva, the rector of more than 40 universities of Russia headed by the President of the Russian Union of Rectors, Viktor Sadovnichy. Kyrgyzstan will be represented by the Minister of Education and Science Gulmira Kudaiberdiyeva, the rectors of 31 universities headed by the chairman of the Association of universities of the Kyrgyz Republic Abdylda Musayev.
The Forum program includes a plenary session and a session block on the following topics: “Russian as the basis for scientific and educational integration of Russia and Kyrgyzstan”, “Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the humanities and natural sciences”, “New approaches to training in the context of economic modernization” .
As a result of the Forum, the Association Agreement of the University of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Union of Rectors is expected to be signed, and 79 bilateral agreements on cooperation and implementation of joint programs and projects between the universities of Russia and Kyrgyzstan will be signed.
