Russia transferred military equipment to Tajikistan in the amount of 603 million Russian rubles (over $ 9 million), the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization reported.
"In accordance with the agreements between the presidents of Russia and Tajikistan, the supply to the Tajik side of Russian military products in the framework of gratuitous assistance continues," the message reads.
In particular, Tajikistan has received from Russia radar stations intended for detecting and tracking air objects, also issuing target designation to air defense complexes of Tajikistan. The transfer of military products is carried out in the framework of the implementation of the modernization program of the national armed forces.
The supplied weapons will increase the defense potential of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan, and will help protect the airspace of Tajikistan from any manifestations of the terrorist threat.
