In 2018, the number of foreign citizens visiting Tajikistan increased by 2.6 times, reports the analysis of statistical data.

“As a result of the necessary measures taken by the government of the country, the number of foreigners visiting the republic increases daily. In 2018, the number of foreign nationals who arrived in Tajikistan increased 2.6 times,” says a summary of the results of the development of the tourism industry in Tajikistan over the past year.

If we take into account that in 2017, the country was visited by 430 thousand 922 tourists, and in 2018 over 1 million 250 thousand foreign citizens visited Tajikistan, on average, more than 3 thousand 400 visitors from other countries visited Tajikistan every day.

According to the ministry’s annual report, there are 145 travel agencies in Tajikistan today, 75 of them were created in 2018. Also, 297 hotels are functioning in the republic, construction continues for another 41.
