“This assistance is provided to Tajikistan within the framework of the agreement between the governments of the two countries on cooperation in the military field, signed in 1999,” reports the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The draft document states that the Kazakh side ensures the delivery of military property by rail to the capital of Tajikistan at its own expense. Tajikistan undertakes not to transfer the received military property, or the right to use it to a third party.

The amount of assistance in monetary terms is not given.

The Government of Tajikistan instructed the republic’s foreign policy department to coordinate with the Kazakh side the date and place of signing the relevant document.The list of transmitted aid includes 79 items of military equipment. The total amount of ammunition is about 1.8 million units.
