The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of Neutrality Day (December 12) signed a decree pardoning convicted persons, reports the Government of Turkmenistan.
In accordance with the document, 796 citizens of the country will be exempt from further serving the sentence of imprisonment.
The President instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with other relevant bodies, to take all necessary measures so that those pardoned in the near future would be released from prison and returned to their homes, to their families.
Recall, December 12 is the anniversary of the permanent neutral status of Turkmenistan. In 1995, on this day, the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution “Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan”.
