Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe at a meeting with the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Cyril Muller thanked the WB for supporting the construction of the Rogun hydropower plant, the press service of the President reports.
“During the meeting, E. Rahmon expressed gratitude to the World Bank for understanding the importance of building the Rogun hydropower plant for achieving energy independence, for the transparency of the research and for its continued support,” the message reads.
They discussed issues of financial support for achieving the goal of sustainable development, the implementation of the strategic goals of Tajikistan and the improvement of the living standards of the population.
Nowadays with the support of the World Bank, 17 investment projects are being implemented in the fields of education, health, agriculture, water supply, energy, transport, and the environment in Tajikistan.
