Tajik President Emomali Rahmon criticized the work of banks at a meeting with entrepreneurs and investors, which held in Dushanbe as part of the international business forum "Development of entrepreneurship, investment and modern economic processes," reports TajikTA.
“At the meeting, the president criticized the banking system and called for the involvement of young specialists in the country's credit institutions,” the press service of the President reports.
“According to banking statistics, over the past 5 years a loan of 49 billion somoni ($ 5.1 billion) has been allocated by commercial banks and credit organizations of the country, almost 27 billion somoni ($ 2.8 billion), that is 55%, falls to industrial entrepreneurship. However, the lack of free bank funds, high interest rates for loans and insufficient access of entrepreneurs to financial resources make it necessary to take additional measures,” said the president.
The head of Tajikistan instructed the National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan to take effective measures to ensure that domestic and foreign investments flow into the banking system.
