Kazakh President participated in the Third Meeting of High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Kazakhstan and Turkey, reports akorda.kz.

Addressing the meeting participants, the President of Kazakhstan elaborated on the current issues of bilateral cooperation.

- Relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey are developing in the spirit of strategic partnership, an important component of which is trade and economic interaction, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The Kazakh leader has stressed that Turkey is one of Kazakhstan’s important investment partners.

The President of Kazakhstan dwelled on certain measures to further strengthen bilateral ties.

In particular, Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed to the need for effective use of the opportunities of the intergovernmental commission between Kazakhstan and Turkey in resolving issues of mutual cooperation.

In addition, the Head of State noted the results of the joint program called New Synergy and talked about the prospects for developing the investment partnership.

- At present, Kazakhstan is updating the transport infrastructure in the framework of Nurly Zhol Program. As a result of its execution, we plan to become the leading logistics hub in Central Asia. In this regard, we need to effectively use the transit potential of our countries, the President of Kazakhstan said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev has also put emphasis on strengthening relations in the oil and gas and military industries.

At the same time, the Head of State especially focused on establishing productive ties in the agro-industrial complex, tourism and scientific and technical spheres.

During the Council session, special attention was also paid to issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
