"In 2017, 836 people were reduced from 24 enterprises and institutions of the Russian Federation in Baikonur, 543 of which are citizens of Kazakhstan," he said.

During the year, 388 people from this list were able to find jobs. As of August 1 of this year, a new wave of cuts in 11 enterprises and in Russian institutions in Baikonur left 104 more Kazakhstanis on the street. In addition, 451 employees of 20 organizations of the Baikonur complex were notified of the reduction by the end of the year. The citizens of Kazakhstan in this list are about half.

Kazakhstan set the task of employing those who remained without work. In the country, there are state programs to ensure employment.

"This year, the Employment Center for the city of Baikonur of the Karmakshinsky regional government was opened. In seven months, 1,145 people applied for job seekers there, 276 citizens registered as officially unemployed, they were able to work for permanent jobs 83 people", Sultan Makashov said.
