The Turkic Council may introduce a special visa regime for foreign tourists within the approved route between the members of the Council. This was reported to KazTAG by reference to the Minister of Sport and Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamadiuly.

As stated by him, the Turkic Council can approve the tourist route Silk Road. And it will be the equivalent of the tourist Schengen visa in Europe. Arystanbek Mukhamadiuly also talked about tourism development in Kazakhstan. He noted that due to the EXPO 2017, the number of tourists in 2017 increased by 25% compared to previous years.
