Polygamy was banned in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has introduced a code that prohibits polygamy. This was published in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".

The project was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov. The new requirement will come into effect on September 1 of the current year. Those who act contrary to the law will be brought to justice. From now on, men who will get many women as a wife in Turkmenistan will be fined with large sum of money or the suspect is sentenced to two years in prison.
