97% of Atyrau citizens speak the state language. This is the highest indicator in the country. Regional Department for Language Development conducted a survey among the population and came to the conclusion, reports Tengrinews.kz.

According to the survey, 96,9 percent of adults in the region speak in Kazakh language with each other. 64,1 per cent of them can speak fluently in the state language and can freely express their opinions. And 32,8 per cent of them do not know very well the Kazakh language. Also, 15,3% of respondents noted that they are learning English.
