In Almaty region, the construction of the Big Almaty Ring Road (BARR) starts.

The project envisages the construction of a 66 km long bypass road around Almaty with six-lane traffic. BAKAD to provide an opportunity to reduce the traffic jam in  Almaty, reduce the number of transit vehicles and improve the environmental situation.

"Investments in the project amounted to $ 543 million, of which 40% are our own investments, the rest is attracted by us through lending. In Kazakhstan, Alarko is implementing this project for the first time’’ said a representative of the Turkish company Alarko Ayhan Yavrudzhu.

Both Turkish, Korean and Kazakh specialists are involved in the project. At the most peak moment of construction, about three thousand people to build the road.
