Kazakhstan took the 38th place in the world competitiveness ranking of 2018, compiled by the Center for the Study of Global Competitiveness of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).

The IMD rating is the result of a comprehensive study that evaluates factors such as economic activity, the effectiveness of the Government, business efficiency and infrastructure.

In the rating were estimated 63 countries of the world. The first line of IMD-2018 is occupied by the USA. Further in the ranking are Hong Kong, Singapore, the Netherlands, Switzerland. Among the CIS countries, Kazakhstan occupies the highest position - 38th place, Russia - 45th place, Ukraine - 49th place.
