The Kazakh economy needs competent specialists in the technical sector, said deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the 5th convocation Zagipa Baliyeva.

"We need IT specialists; we need competent engineers who are involved in robotics and nanotechnology. The challenges of the times are such that the economy needs just such specialties. It is necessary to prepare our students, graduates to these professions. They will always be at work. Our country no longer needs so many lawyers and economists. We need specialists with a highly qualified technical education: software developers, robots and engineers, " she said.

The deputy of the Majilis noted that this year they will increase grants for admission to universities.

"Now, in our country the Ministry of Education and Science allocates from the budget 54 thousand grants for admission to universities. Since this academic year, another 20,000 grants have been added. 11,000 of them will direct to technical specialties, " she added.
