According to the AKIpress, Former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev is elected as chairman of the party at the congress today in Bishkek. The election was held in a closed door and nobody participated except Atambayev.
Almazbek Atambayev held the post of the KSDP before this. He chaired the party until 2011. Later, when he was elected as president, he resigned from his post as chairman. Instead of him, no one has ever been elected.
In general, the KSDP is the most influential party in Kyrgyzstan. The current president of the country Sooronbai Zheenbekov is also a member of this party.
