Uzbekistan joined the Financial Intelligence Council of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), according to the UzTAG.
"Recently, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyev approved the country's accession to an agreement on the creation of a council of heads of CIS financial intelligence units," the message said referring to the telegram channel of the Justice Ministry of Uzbekistan on Friday.
"The authorized body of Uzbekistan, responsible for the implementation of this international treaty, is the Department for Combating Tax, Currency Crimes and Legalization of Criminal Incomes under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic," the message explains.
The CIS Financial Intelligence Council is engaged in the implementation of joint financial intelligence activities, the rapid exchange of information, the organization of training and professional development of personnel.
