Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on the decision of Kazakhstan to introduce a visa-free regime for the USA citizens at the forum "Russia - country of opportunities" in Moscow yesterday. As stated by him, it is necessary to Kazakhstan to conclude an agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union.

One of Kazakhstan's participants asked from Sergei Lavrov "How to visa-free regime for US citizens in Kazakhstan will affect Kazakhstan-Russia relations".
"I am not aware of that and I'm not lying. I will be in Astana tomorrow and talk with my colleague Kairat (Kairat Abdrakhmanov). The Eurasian Economic Union also has a rule of visa-free regime, so it needs to have an agreement within the Eurasian Economic Union.

Recall, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev met with US President Donald Trump in January. The two leaders discussed issues of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the US. The President of Kazakhstan noted that he hopes that the United States will introduce a visa-free regime for Kazakhstan citizens.

"Kazakhstan has announced a visa-free regime for American citizens, and we hope that United States will also introduce a visa-free regime for Kazakhstan citizens", - told Nazarbayev.

Recall, it means that Russia may intervene to affairs of Kazakhstan. It is also possible that Russia might put their requirements via using the EAEU.
