On January 2018, 1.2 million individual entrepreneurs (IE) registered in Kazakhstan. It is more than January 2017 by 0.8% (9.8 thousand) , reports Ranking.
Of these, 560.9 thousand IE are under the leadership of women - by 1.1% (6.3 thousand) more than a year earlier. Their share of the total number of registered IE was 47% (a year earlier it was 46.9%).
Most often, women leaders among the current IE are found in the education sector (73.5% - 5.1 thousand). Following are the state administration, defense, and compulsory social security - 69.2%. The top-3 sphere of operations with real estate closes - 64.5%.
To support women's entrepreneurship, the Damu Foundation offers two programs:
- measures to support women entrepreneurship at the expense of the EBRD ("Women in business");
- microcredit program for women's entrepreneurship.
