The Kaz Minerals group of companies produced 259,000 tonnes of copper last year, the company's press service reported.

"In 2017, Kaz Minerals produced 259,000 tonnes of copper, an increase of 80% compared to the previous year. Production of gold - 179 thousand ounces, silver - 3.506 million ounces, zinc in concentrate - 58 thousand tons. The volume of ore mined by the company is 64.8 million tons, "the report said, circulated on Thursday.

As specified, the production of copper at Bozshakol in 2017 amounted to 101 thousand tons - an increase of 111% compared to 2016. The volume of gold produced is 119 thousand ounces. Aktogay produced 90 thousand tons of copper. Enterprises of the eastern region and Bozymchak mine in Kyrgyzstan produced 67 thousand tons of copper.

Recall that the group Kaz Minerals in 2016 produced 140.3 thousand tons of copper in the cathode equivalent. The volume of mined ore reached 49 million tons.
