The deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Kyrgyzstan Damirbek Assylbekuly, detained in Almaty, might be a citizen of Kazakhstan.

As stated by the AKI press service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan sent a note to Kyrgyzstan concerning the deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Kyrgyzstan, Damirbek Asylbekuly, detained on February 15, that he is a citizen of Kazakhstan. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has not yet confirmed this information and has not responded to media inquiries.

Recall, during the special operation in Almaty, Zhambyl and South Kazakhstan regions on February 15 and 16, the deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Kyrgyzstan, Damirbek Asylbekuly was detained. Subsequently, a criminal case under article 234 paragraph 3 and article 264 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan was initiated and he was detained for two months.
