The research showed that 76% of the surveyed residents of Almaty involved charity activity in 2017. Most of them (59%) are women. 49% of donations to charity are people aged 25-44, informs company AST.

49% of the respondents indicated that they made donations more than five times, 23% of respondents helped money unfamiliar from two to five times a year, and 4% provided one-time financial support. 19% of Almaty residents noted that they do not participate in charity.

90% of respondents indicated that they make money donations directly to the needy (in the form of alms, alms in public places, cash and non-cash transfer of money), 22% through intermediaries (charitable organizations, foundations, religious, church organizations, volunteers, relatives, government agencies, social services).

Most of the respondents of Almaty (21%) are ready to allocate for donations the amount from 1000 to 5000 tenge per year. The share of respondents who allocate up to 1000 tenge for charity is 15% Up to 10 000 tenge per year can be donated by 13% of Almaty residents.
