13 abandoned children recorded in Kazakhstan in 2017, reports Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Education and Science.

"According to local executive information, in 2017, 13 children were found on construction sites, in wells and in garbage cans. Of these, three died. There is an increase in the number of such cases: in 2016, 7 children were found, "the Ministry of Education and Science in Kazakhstan reported in response to a written request from the agency.

Also, two children were found within two months of the current year, one of them died. "All the children found by local executive bodies were organized into Kazakh families. If the local executive bodies disclose abandoned children, the priority right to organize them into the family is given to relatives," the press service informed.
