Kazakhstan climbed 64th place out of 113 countries in the world ranking of the rule of law, reports the international independent organization World Justice Project.
Despite the fact that last year Kazakhstan lost many of its positions, dropping by nine points, new results improved the ratings of the year. In 2015, the country ranked 65th in the rating, this year at this position the Republic of Belarus.
Among the countries of the former Soviet Union, Kazakhstan has overtaken such countries as Ukraine (77th), Belarus (65th), Kyrgyzstan (82nd), Russia (89th), Uzbekistan (91st), but previous leaders Georgia (38th) and Mongolia (51st) could not be outstripped. A similar situation was in the previous rating.
The leaders of the rating have not changed; they are again Denmark, Norway and Finland. The USA lost one position and settled down on the 19th line.
The rule of law index is compiled based on a combination of eight key indicators. Among them - the restriction of the powers of institutions of power (25/36), the lack of corruption (22/36), the openness of the state (23/36), the rule of law and security (31/36), the protection of fundamental rights (7/36), regulatory enforcement ( 13/36), civil justice (14/36), criminal justice (20/36).
Recall, in the previous rating of 2016, Kazakhstan lost its positions by eight points and took 73rd place in the list of 113 countries.
