Associate Professor of the National University of Uzbekistan, deputy director of the Center for Innovative Technologies Miryakub Khaidarov suggested introducing a dress code for the deputies of parliament based on national traditions.
According to him, they need to prohibit the deputies to wear European clothes. In his opinion, the Uzbeks should return to national values and traditions. They should wear national clothes to work. For example, they will wear silk chapans in summer and woolen or velvet chepkens — in winter.
‘It is better for representative bodies to be in the traditional clothing of the regions they represent. Naturally, Fergana residents will differ from Surkhandarya representatives, and those from the Khorezmians’, Miryakub Khaidarov said.
He sent his proposal to the Parliament or the Uzbek president.
