On December 15, morning, the protest of ArcelorMittal Temirtau ended. The miners of the ‘Kazakhstan’ mine began to rise to the surface after a meeting with the Mayor of Karaganda region Yerlan Koshanov and the executive director of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC Vadim Basin. Then, other miners of ArcelorMittal Temirtau came to surface, reports the local government of Karaganda region.
The company agreed to the requirements of the protesting workers. The organization of ArcelorMittal Temirtau has decided to increase miners’ salary by 30%. All employees of the coal department of the company will be paid a one-time payment of the premium in the amount of wages. The employer is invited to declare December 15 a day off and start working on December 16.
Among the miners, a letter distributed signed by the procurator of the city of Shakhtinsk. The letter gives a guarantee of exemption from criminal prosecution of miners for participating in this protest.
Recall, on December 14, the Shakhtinsk court ordered the miners of ArcelorMittal Temirtau have to leave mines and stop protesting acts.
