Nazarbayev: Parliament and Government should work in Kazakh language

Kazakh President Nazarbayev received the Minister of Information and Communications Dauren Abaev, reports the press club of Akorda.

The Kazakh President dwelled on the issue of the transition of the Kazakh language to the Latin schedule and stressed the importance of taking measures to improve the status of the state language.

- The process of transition to the Latin alphabet is historically important for our people. At the same time, it is necessary to continue work on raising the status of the Kazakh language. The activities of the Parliament and the Government should be carried out only in the state language. At the same time, one should not infringe upon the rights of citizens in this matter. It is necessary to provide for them the possibility of simultaneous interpretation, - said the head of state.

The President noted the importance of a phased transition to the Latin schedule, instructed to carefully study the issue of improving the methods of teaching the Kazakh language.

In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev focused on issues of ensuring cyber security and increasing the competitiveness of the domestic media.

The head of state pointed to the need to improve the quality of serial production of domestic TV channels, and also stressed the important role of the mass media in the patriotic education of youth.
