For the first time, not only in Uzbekistan, but also in the entire Central Asian region, at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev under the auspices of UNESCO, an international conference entitled “Preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage: actual problems and strategies to solve them” to hold in Samarkand in August, reports the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Kyrgyz Republic.
UNESCO Director General Audrey Azule and the leadership of the World Heritage Center to attend the conference. Officials are also expected from the ministries of culture of 54 states, where invitations to organizers are sent, as well as well-known experts, scientists, restorers, directors of museums and other specialists in the field of science and art from around the world.
The event will host the opening ceremony of the XII Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival and Heritage Week “Uzbekistan - the intersection of great roads and civilizations, empires, religions, and culture”, which will cover three historic cities - Tashkent, Termez and Samarkand.
In addition, the III International Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage, an exhibition of antiquities and a number of others will be held.
